|A very fine musical miniature grand piano all over decorated with hand painted Austrian enamel scenes in gilt bronze frame.
The top of the lid is painted with a scene of two men and three ladies with a little dog lying at their feet al in an arcadian scene with statue behind and trees and a village in the background.
Lifting the lid the underside is painted with a charming scene of two admirers pressing their case on a young woman. The man to the left is pressing a flower to her while the young man to the left holds a target in his hand with two arrows piercing the bullseye. At the young woman's feet can be seen a quiver of arrows among flowers. The whole scene is set in a classical landscape with stone urn, steps and pond.
The sides of the piano are decorated with well painted scenes of Cupids armed with bows and arrows and targets in a lovely landscape looking for their victims.
The three legs of the grand pian are also painted enamel.
Turning to the business end of the piano there are two decorative scenes, one above the keys which is a painting of garlands of flowers and ribbons while the lid to the keys is decorated with musical trophies among flowers.
Lift the lid and the keys are of painted enamel too.
The piano is wound from below by an integral key and the music is set off by lifting the lid to the black and white keys. It plays beautifully and very clearly. Two different tunes, it will play continuously and will stop as soon as the lis is replaced.
One of the nicest versions that I have seen.
In perfect working condition and without a blemish to any part of the enamel.
There is room for a few rings in the red velvet interior.
