Antique Italian Grand Tour bronze model of Narcissus, Neopolitan.

Antique Grand Tour bronze of Narcissus, after the antique. Good colour original patination with some green and brown. Set upon a black marble base, square at the bottom rising to a cylinder with mouldings. Italy circa 1860. 8.25 inches high by 2.5 inches square at the base ( 20.625 cms by 6.25 cms). The original of the Narcissus was discovered in 1862 in a nondescript house in Pompeii, being the last antique statue found in Italy to enjoy considerable fame.
