Antique singing bird box in hammered silver case.

An unusual silver singing bird box in a hammered silver case with rounded edges and on silver ball feet. The oval lid of silver with silver beading surrounding it. When the operating ball is pulled the lid opens and the brightly coloured bird pops up through the gilt bronze pierced grille and begins his performance. He sings, turns from left to right, flaps his wings and opens and shuts his beak. After a few seconds he finishes his performance, disapears down throught he grille and the lid closes after him ready for his next performance. The box has German silver marks and is also marked on the base with the little known "Lighthouse" mark. German circa 1920. 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep by 2 inches high ( 10 cms by 6.25 cms by 5 cms).
