A very fine pair of late 18th century Swedish ormolu and marble cassolettes. Set upon three bun feet the circular white marble base has beading and an ormolu band decoration. Black marble column rises from the base with ormolu base and small cap with chain. The bowl of the cassolette is reeded and very finely matted and has a beaded swag decorations applied. The lid of the cassolette is of ormolu with acanthus decoration and surmounted by a berry finial. When the lid is turned over to use as a candlestick the holder is very well decorated with milling. All original threads and soft iron rods. Circa 1800.
