A most unusual and fine antique desk compendium. Comprising an 8 day carriage clock and an aneroid barometer with a thermometer between and a compass to the top.
Superb quality throughout. Set upon 8 turned feet with 8 matching finials above, the handle in the form of two capstan arms.
All 8 glasses are bevelled and perfect, the 8 columns are all reeded.
The most extra ordinary feature of this compendium are the engraved, silvered and blue enamelled panels that make up the dial plates and the 16 other panels that go all round the compendium at the top and bottom of the case. Engraved mainly with floral designs but also include birds and butterflies.
The movement to the clock is an 8 day carriage clock movement.
