An antique Italian painting, oil on board in good gilt frame. The subject probably taken from a 17th century version is of a woman breat feeding a baby while at the same time reaching up to take pomegranites from a tree for two other children. Well painted and with a stamp on the back of the board pertaining to Frankfurt in Germany. Probably Italian and late 19th century. 18 inches wide and 14.5 inches high ( 45 cm by 36.25 cm) including frame. 13 inches wide by 9 inches high ( 32.5 cm by 22.5 cm ) painting only.
