A fabulous early 19th century Palais Royal, ormolu and mother of pearl jewellery box. The casket is finely decorated with bands of gilt bronze floral swags, urns and garlands around the lid and sides. The body has elegantly curved and pierced twin handles and gather lace style lower trim with four well cast winged lion paw feet. The lid contains an intricate floral bouquet of paper flowers, set on a cream velvet under domed glass. The sides feature fourteen additional square panels, each containing similar floral sprays of paper flowers backed on mother of pearl panels. Also under domed glass. The inside is lined with satin, and the lid retaining its original mirror. 22cm Long by 14cm Wide and 9.6cm High
