Silver & purple guilloche enamel sub-miniature clock by Silvana.
A refined early 20th-century silver and guilloché enamel sub-miniature clock by Silvana, dating to circa 1920. The architectural mantel-form case is richly decorated with fine engine-turned guilloché, overlaid with a vibrant translucent purple enamel of excellent colour and depth.
The body features vertical fluted guilloché, contrasted by a basket-weave pattern to the stepped base, all framed by polished silver mounts. The enamel is well preserved, retaining strong lustre and clarity.
The circular dial is fitted with Arabic numerals, a dotted minute track, and blued steel hands. Powered by a quality Swiss 30 hour movement, typical of Silvana’s finely made small clocks, the piece was intended as a sub-miniature or boudoir clock, suitable for a desk, bedside, or display cabinet.
Silvana is known for producing elegant miniature clocks and luxury objects, and examples in purple guilloché enamel—a technically demanding and visually striking colour—are particularly desirable. Marked on the underside and the back door 'Swiss Silver, Argent Dore, 0.935 silver content and Swiss rampant bear silver mark.
A charming and highly decorative silver and enamel timepiece, combining precision, colour, and craftsmanship in miniature form. Swiss Circa 1920 4.6cm High by 4.2cm Wide and 2cm Deep
