Sub Miniature Silver and Guilloche enamel Carriage or Boudoir Clock
A charming and exceptionally decorative Swiss silver and blue guilloché enamel sub miniature carriage clock, circa 1910. The finely engine-turned enamel panels are enriched with delicate gilt floral swags and scrollwork, creating a jewel-like appearance of remarkable refinement.
The compact square-form case is fitted with a folding carrying handle and raised on small bun feet, retaining an elegant balance between practicality and luxury. The white enamel dial with Arabic numerals is framed within a silver bezel and fitted with blued steel hands, adding a pleasing contrast against the rich cobalt blue ground.
Pieces of this diminutive scale were produced as luxury novelty timepieces during the Belle Époque period, intended for use on a lady’s dressing table or for travel. Their survival in such attractive condition makes them highly desirable today, particularly examples with vivid guilloché enamel and original gilded decoration.
A highly collectible and beautifully executed miniature antique timepiece, combining the elegance of Edwardian silverwork with the sophistication of Swiss horology.
