Silver and Blue Guilloche Enamel Strut Clock

Silver and Blue Guilloche Enamel Strut Clock
A charming English silver and guilloche enamel strut clock, dating to the Art Deco period. The circular silver case is beautifully adorned with translucent turquoise blue guilloche enamel over and engine turned ground, producing a shimmering wave like effect that catches the light wonderfully from every angle. At the centre, a gilt bronze dial, with engine turned centre and arabic numerals and spade hands. These compact desk and boudoir clocks were produced in England during the interwar years as elegant dressing table or writing desk accessories, often retailed by fine jewellers and silversmiths in London. Although the hallmarks are now rubbed through polishing and age, the quality of the silver mount and vivid translucent enamel are particularly pleasing. A highly decorative piece of English Art Deco silver, combining refined craftsmanship with bold period design. 9cm Diameter
