Turquoise guilloche enamel and silver gilt circular box with inset clock. In superb condition and in excellent working order. To the lid the guilloche enamel radiates out in a sunburst pattern to a concentric rim of white enamel. Outside of this a further layer of turquoise guilloche enamel overlays floral patterns. These patterns continue on the side of the box in guilloche enamel and silver. The bottom of the box is also highly decorated in silver. The centre of the lid is taken up with the gilt dial of the clock which is of 8 day duration and is signed on the dial Maquet Paris-Nice. Unusually the arabic numerals are white enamel chapters set into a gilt dial. The clock is wound from the back by an integral key. France circa 1920. 3.5 inch diameter ( 8.75 cms)
