An extremely fine Silver and enamel Casket by the pre-eminent London Silversmith of the late 19th, early twentieth century, William Comyns. The casket or box, of very good size, with a pull out draw with handle, lined with blue satin. The box is elaborately decorated with scrolling silver work, interspersed with cupids, flowers, the north wind, birds, medusa, and dolphins, with blue enamel, is in wonderful detail and of the highest workmanship. Numbered 'R0N0 335571' and Silver hallmarked for William Comyns, London 1899. A beautiful piece, of the highest quality. 41.1 oz. inc wood liner. 23 cm x 15 cm.
