A fine Art Nouveau period patinated bronze bust of Diana, signed A. Falguiere, for Jean Alexandre Joseph Falguière, also known as Alexandre Falguiere for short, and stamped with the Thiebaut Freres Foundry mark for the Thiebaut brothers. Falguiere was born in Toulouse in 1831, and was a pupil of the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He won the Prix de Rome in 1859, and was awarded the medal of honor at the Paris salon in 1868. This fine model of the goddess Diana, set upon a rouge marble base, with gilt bronze base border. Circa 1890 16cm High
