An exquisite French Palais Royal gaming chip box by Germain et Roudier, 11 Rue des Bourdonnais Paris and dated 13th July 1816. The casket frame in silver gilt and gilt bronze beautifully cast and decorated with mermaids, urns and having classical urn shaped feet. Inset with 10 engraved panels of mother of pearl. The lid decorated with paper flowers beneath a convex glass. The casket contains four silver gilt boxes with gold and mother of pearl gaming counters within. The original invoice behind the mirror glass lining to the lid. 5.25 inches wide by 3.75 inches deep and 3.25 inches high. France. 1816
