A most unusual and striking boulle clock. Decorated with ormolu mounts having boullework of inlaid brass and tortoiseshell stained in different colours. The scrolling pillars terminate in eagles' heads and are decorated with mother of pearl flowers. The elaborate ormolu pendulum has a bird in foliage with porcelain flowers. The dial with 12 poecelain cartouches and superb gilt bronze hands. 8 day bell striking movement. Circa 1850. 22 inches high by 12 inches wide by 6 inches deep ( 55 cms by 30 cms by 15 cms).
