A very unusual desk compendium with chess and gambling interest that incorporates a clock and a barometer within a pair of dice. A thermometer and a compass set between. All upon a base which is in the form of a chess board with some silvered and some gilt chessmen, some draughts pieces and also some silvered domino pieces. Original silver finish. Signed in several places in the bronze E. Acier. French circa 1880.
