A novelty bronze table cigar lighter formed an obelisk 'Cleopatra's needle' To commemorate the arrival in London of the obelisk (January 1878). Presumably this was a shop fitting or for use in a public space as it would be permanently connected into a gas main and the flame would be on for a period of time until turned off at the tap on the top of the obelisk.
Enscribed around base;
