A good antique grand Tour bronze of the Spinario. A naked youth sits upon a tree stump pulling a thorn from his foot. The original ancient bronze of the Spinario is in the Capitoline Museum in Rome and was made up from fragments of a 4th or 5th century Greek bronze. Italian circa 1880 8 inches tall by 5 inches deep ( 20 cms by 12.5 cms).
