Antique miniature silver and guilloche enamel carriage or boudoir clock with watercolour on ivory paintings in panels to the sides and top. Superb quality case with fine deep sky blue guilloche enamel decoration on three sides and the top, the back door silver with engine turning. Three fine watercolour on ivory portraits within silver oval bezels. The two side portraits are of young beauties in classical landscapes while the scene on the top is of a courting couple. All the scenes are beautifully painted and two are signed by J. Vallievet. The dial to the front is of white enamel with blued steel hands. There is a cartouche below the dial which is engraved in silver " Carpe Diem" or "Live for Today" a very apt thought. The movement is French and is a circular 8 day movement with a lever escapement. 3 inches high by 2.75 inches wide by 2.25 inches deep ( 7.5 cms by 6.25 cms by 5.625 cms).
