Antique pair of English George III or early Regency candlesticks in ormolu and white marble. Typical neo classical style set upon a white marble socle with ormolu banding. The subject that of a pair of "baiting" Eagles, beautifully modelled, cast and finished. The ormolu fine and original. Finely worked feathers and knurling. Superb tulip cnadlesconce to eagles head. English circa 1795-1805. 6.75 inches high 4.75 inches wide by 3.5 inch diameter ( 16.875 cm by 11.875 cm by 8.75 cm).
