Antique French Romantic period ormolu cased automaton fountain clock with gothic architectural tower and lion's head fountain spout. A troubador stands on the left hand side of the clock playing a lute. The base decorated with freize of Gothic arches and the feet are also decorated in the gothic style. 8 day silk suspension movement signed Alibert a Paris. . A separate movement powers the automaton waterfall. The front plate of the automaton movement is signed Cailly Ainee, a well known maker of clockwork movements for automatons. Ormolu is original and is mercury fire gilt on bronze. Height 12.25 inches (31cm ). The clock stands upon a separate giltwood and gesso base.
