Antique French Charles X period ormolu cased mantel clock decorated with a classical figure wearing a plumed helmet gazing towards the finial in the form of a winged Cupid holding his bow. The whole on a stepped pediment decorated with classical motifs of the trophies of war and standing upon fine cast bracket feet also illustrating trophies of war. The silvered dial having black Roman numerals and Brguet style blued steel moon hands. A spectacular cast ormolu bezel surrounds the dial. This is cast with alternating cupid's heads and roses. 8 day bell striking movement with silk suspension pendulum striking the hours and halves on a fine cast bell by means of a countwheel. 23inches high by 14 inches wide by 5 inches deep ( 57.5 cm by 35 cm by 12.5 cm) .
