A fine English silver rococo style miniature carriage clock by Henry Matthews of Birmingham. The fine white enamel dial with roman numerals and blued steel spade hands. The movement is a good 8 day with platform escapement, stamped with the lion. This is the symbol of a fine and prolific French carriage clock maker by the name of Albert Villon of Saint Nicholas, France, who established his shop in 1867 and who supplied the movement. Stamped on the bottom with silvermarks for Birmingham, 1900 date mark, case numbered 51, and makers mark H.M. for Henry Matthews. The interior of the case is gilded. 7cm High with handle down.
