An unusual French Empire ormolu mantel clock of small size celebrating wine. The base of oval form set on toupee feet with applied ormolu mounts . On the base is a wine barrel with a bacchic figure sitting upon it holding a goblet & a pan pipe. Surrounding the whole is a arbor formed with vine leaves & grapes. The barrel has a fine signed French watch movement within. The white enamel convex dial signed Gregson a Paris. Circa 1815. 8.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide by 3.25 cms deep ( 21cms by 16 cms by 8 cms).
