A very attractive early French Empire patinated bronze and ormolu mantel clock. The subject is of Cupid seated on an Empire stool reading a book by lamp light. The oval shaped case with ormolu female masks to the sides. All set on bun feet. White enamel dial signed Janvier a Paris, gilt hands. 8 day bell striking movement on silk suspension. Circa 1805. 12 inches tall.
