A beautiful quality French early 19th century encrier comprising a rectangular base with leaf & dart moulding. Inset a sander, inkwell & pin tray. The rectangular cover decorated with a fine applied ormolu mount of forget-me-not is surmounted by a well modelled rearing horse. Original gilding & patination. 6.5 inches high by 5.5 wide & 3.75 inches deep. Circa 1810.
