A most unusual English Regency version of the Chariot of Apollo clock in patinated bronze & original ormolu. Apollo is seen riding his chariot being pulled by eagles over stylised clouds. Apollo can also be seen in the bold relief frieze waiting upon his father Zeus. On the back of the chariot can be seen a representation of the nynph Clyte who followed his progress through the heavens. The dial is in the wheel of the chariot. The movement is an English 8 day fusee movement with original chains.
