A lovely English Regency object, the subject that of an exhausted stag after a model made by Pitoin for Madame du Barry in 1772. The well finished stag sits on a superb ormolu base, held by original hand made screws. This is attached to a further base of Derbyshire black marble. This magnificent object with fabulous and original fire gilt/mercurial ormolu is in perfect original condition. 5 inches high with base 7.5 inches wide and 4.75 deep. Circa 1810.
