A most unusual and attractive English Neo-classical form thermometer. The ormolu stepped base with figures representing the four seasons surrounding it and a high relief oval to the front of Cupid and Venus. The thermometer with engraved and silvered scale in farenheight is set in an obelisk needle on four bun feet and is surmounted by an eagle. 10.5 inches high on black marble base 3.75 inches wide by 2.75 inches deep. Circa 1830.
