A superb English Regency library mantle clock in white marble with patinated bronze and original ormolu. Set on toupee feet with very finely cast inset ormolu mounts, figures of two classically dressed females sitting back to back against the clock drum and reading from ormolu books. The clock drum is surmouted by a flaming ormolu finial. The fine 8 day fusee movement with original chain and fine pendulum is signed on the backplate "Grimalde & Johnson Strand London" who were working from 1809-1825. This superb clock is not to be confused with lesser inferior models. 10.5 inches high by 14 wide and 3.5 inches deep.
