A very rare large sized English Edwardian antique dome topped tortoiseshell and silver mounted striking mantel clock with silver piquet. This superb clock is by the most eminent of London makers, William Comyns. Silver hallmarked for London 1914. William Comyns is most famous for the silver piquet work on his dome topped mantel clocks. This is the largest model I have ever seen. Furthermore as this is a hour and half hour striking clock it is rarer still. Fine enamel dial and blued steel hands. It has integral winding keys and is in excellent condition. 8.5 inches high by 4.75 inches wide and 4 inches deep.
