A most attractive antique French Charles X clock in patinated bronze and ormolu of the Trophies of War. Set upon floral bracket feet the clock stands upon a rectangular patinated bronze base with fine floral moulding. To the centre of the base is a plaque in high relief of blacksmiths forging weapons (a battle axe and a shield can be seen in the background). The clock movement and dial in a drum case is set upon the back of a pair of ormolu winged lions. To the top of the drum housing are applied fine ormolu mounts of helmet, quivers, axes, spears, bows, armour and honours. 8 day bell striking movement with silk suspension. 17 inches high by 7.25 inches wide by 4.25 inches deep.
