Perhaps the finest early 20th century bird box that I have seen. Made by Griesbaum of Germany in silver and enamel. The perfect enamel is all over decorated with scenes from the most famous paintings of Napoleon. Outstanding quality. On sliding the operating lever the lid opens and the full bodied bird pops through the grille & begins singing. It has a moving beak, the bird turns, flaps his wings and tail and after his performance pops down through the grille & the lid lowers
