A very pretty marble study of a young girl at her alphabet. She has a lovely face and has a classical ribbon in her hair. She is shown studying her book of letters in rapt attention. Very well carved, excellent condition. Circa 1880. 19.5 inches high by 7.5 inches square ( 49 cms by 19 cms square).
