A very smart French early Charles X period patinated bronze and ormolu truncated column clock by the celebrated bronzier Claude Galle. Set on an eight sided base with patinated bronze mouldings of oak leaves and acorns, a sliver of ormolu and another patinated bronze moulding of forget-me-nots. The column in beautifully finished and worked patinated bronze, set off with a vase finial with ormolu serpent handles. A fabulous ormolu bezel with a fine engine turned gilt bronze dial with silvered hour chapters. High quality blued steel hands. Dial signed "Galle Rue de Richelieu No 95". 8 day bell striking movement on silk suspension.13 inches high ( 32 cms).
