Fine and unusual Rosewood and marquetry lyre clock on its original marquetry inlaid stand and under it's original glass dome. It is constructed of rosewood with superb marquetry inlay with white mouldings and ivory mounts to the side of the lyre. All flowers and trailing floral motifs. The movement is signed with a stamp Pons medaille d'honneur 1827. The dial is of silvered bronze with ormolu bezel and ormolu pendulum. It is a form of mystery clock as the pendulum runs above the movement with no obvious form of power. Normally the pendulum runs below the movement. The movement is 8 day bell striking the hours and halves. The total height is 30 inches by 12 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep ( 75 cms by 30 cms by 21 cms). Perfect condition.
