An outstanding antique English Regency thermometer and watchstand in patinated and gold lacquered bronze. Set upon a rectangular base, two columns of patinated bronze sit in reeded and lacquered bases. Between them is set a lacquered brass thermometer sheet in farenheit with the original thermometer. The scale reads "Fev ht" , "Blood ht","Sum ( sic) ht" etc. Set above is a patinated bronze foliate finial with inset a gothic lacquered bronze disc to hold a watch by the pressure of a steet spring riveted to the top of the thermometer stand. Circa 1815. 11 inches high by 5.25 inches wide and 3 inches deep ( 27.5 cms by 13.5 cms by 7.5 cms).
