A magnificent English Regency patinated bronze and ormolu desk tidy. Of very heavy construction and of sarcophagus form. The patinated bronze tidy stands on four paw feet. To the front are applied floral ormolu mounts centred by a pattera with a similar applied ormolu patterae to each side. The hinged lid has a superb ormolu figure of a reclining cupid. All ormolu is fire/mercury gilt. Inside there are three trays to hold pins etc. 6.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep by 5 inches high ( 16.25 cms by 8.75 cms by 12.5 cms).
