A quite stunning early 19th century English Regency pastille burner in patinated bronze. Of outstanding quality the pastille burner stands on a square base. Four very well cast and finished dolphins, set on a disc with decorated edge, with their tails up hold up the dish. The underside of the dish id decorated with a lotus leaf pattern. The dish itself is decorated to the sides with concentric circles of milling, leaf and dart decoration and finally some beading. The lid is hand fretted with anthemion, diamond shapes and crescents. The lid is surmounted by a berry finial. Perfect condition, original patination and patina. Circa 1810. 5.5 inches high by 4.5 inches maximum diameter ( 13.75 cms by 11.25 cms).
