A stunning pair of French 1st Empire candlesticks in patinated bronze and ormolu. Fine fire or mercury gilded ormolu in excellent original condition. Superb chasing to the socle, candleholder and the swags in her hands as well as the fine arm bands. Classical figural sticks, the vestals holding beautifully chased and gilded swags of flowers and holding the candle holders on their heads. Wonderful quality and quite original, still having the original threads. Circa 1815. 12 inches tall by 4.5 inch diameter ( 30 cms by 11.25 cms)
