A very fine bronze and ivory sculpture of a young woman by Gotthilf A. Jaeger ( 1871-…). Jaeger comes up from time to time, especially well known for his sculptures of falconers in medieval dress. This is a delightful and masterly exposition of the sculptors art. He has the young girl leaning forward and looking outwards as she fits her shoe to her foot. The dress is in original gilded bronze and her ivory face is beautifully carved and has had no repairs. She stands upon a good breque violet marble base. She is signed in the bronze and has a foundry mark.10 inches high by 5 .25 inches by 3.25 inches ( 25 cms by 13 cms by 8 cms)
