A large and important early 19th century French ormolu and porcelain mantel clock in untouched condition. The ormolu very dirty but apparantly pristine beneath the dirt. Very fine fire or mercury gilt mounts to the case, of flowers, buds, garlands and two children surmounting the case. Large panls of "Sevres" porcelain below the dial, in convex panels to the sides of the case and as smaller panels to the front and sides. The panels in the Boucher style of lovers in landscapes, exotic birds in landscapes and oval miniature portraits. The circular dial having blue enamel numerals on a white ground. The 8 day bell striking movement with early silk suspended pendulum. The movement engraved to the baackplate Jacquier a Paris. France circa 1835. 20.5 inches high by 14 inches wide by 7.25 inches deep ( 51.25 cms by 35 cms by 18 cms).
