A magnificent English late 18th/early 19th century Blue-John vase of large size. Hand made at Matlock the hollow bowl is made in two parts and exhibits some of the finest colour available in blue john. The socle is solid blue john and the square base is made of blue-john, coffin cut with Derbyshire black marble mouldings. 18 inches high by 10 inches diameter and 7.5 inches square at base( 45 cms by 25 cms by 18.75 cms).
