A good German solid silver jewelled and filigree "Book " form singing bird box. Jewelled to the centre and all corners of both covers. Fine clasp to the front. Engraved to top plate. Pull lever to operate. On pulling the operating lever the full bodied bird pops through the grille & begins singing. It has a moving beak, the bird turns, flaps his wings and tail and after his performance pops down through the grille . Early 20th century 4.25 inches wide by 3.25 inches deep by 2.25 inches high
