Ormolu and porcelain clock set, French, end of the 19th century. This lovely clock with full size dial plate panel in jewelled porcelain on a blue ground also has portrait panels to each side, an urn to the top of the clock and further panels to the base and the upper surface of the clock. Each of the side pieces is a four branch candelabra with three porcelain panels to the base rising to a porcelain urn. The ormolu is original ( the set has not been re-gilded) and all porcelain is in excellent condition. The movement is an eight day movement regulated by a steel suspended pendulum. The clock strikes the hours and halves on a sweet cast bell. French circa 1870. Clock 15 inches high by 10.5 inches wide by 6.75 inches deep ( 37.5 cms by 26 cms by 17 cms), sidepieces 18.5 inches high by 6 inches by 4.25 inches square at the base ( 46 cms by 15 cms by 10.5 cms).
