A fine and good sized patinated bronze figure of a classical muse seated in an Empire chair. She sits looking at a bird that is perched on the edge of a gilt bronze drinking vessel that the woman holds up in her hands. Superb modelling to the drapes, a very fine face and excellent detail to the chair. France circa 1860. 17 inches high by 16 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep ( 42.5 cms by 40 cms by 16.5 cms).
