A finely worked pair of English Regency patinated bronze candlesticks of a Stag and Doe resting below a stylised tree candlestick with squirrels in the branches. A beautiful version of a popular model. The patinated bronze is in excellent condition, the stag and doe have been hand finished by a graveur to a high standard. The fine knurling to the bowl of the candelaholder is typical of the finest of English work at this period. Both candlesticks are weighted by plates under the base. English circa 1820. 7.25 inches high by 5.25 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep ( 18 cms by 13 cms by 6.25 cms).
