A good pair of late 18th or early 19th century ormolu cassolettes, probably English, loosely in the style of Mathew Boulton. Set upon a square marble base the square ormolu foot rises to a reeded column with decorated capital and base and on to a fine bowl decorated with applied beading swags. The lip of the bowl is decorated with deep acanthus decoration.The reversable tops show a berry finial when used as decorative urns and a candle holder as required. English circa 1800. 9.5 inches high on 4 inch square base ( 23.75 cms by 10 cms).
