A very fine English Regency single fusee mantel clock by the eminent maker Vulliamy. The movement signed and numbered 685 with original fusee chain and chamfered pendulum. The balloon shaped satinwood case with mahogany crossbanding and ormolu bracket feet. The lovely engine turned gilt bronze dial with superb gilt bronze ouroboros ( serpent eating tail) bezel surrounding it. The hands are very finely made and are of the classic English early 19th century heart shape in blued steel. 8 day going movement. 10 inches high by 5.5 inches wide by 4 inches deep ( 25 cms by 13.75 cms by 10 cms).
