An excellent Italian Grand Tour bronze of a bearded male Bacchante figure cradling a baby in his arms. The adult figure has vine leaves in his hair and is wearing a lion's pelt. The child is also wearing vine leaves. Superb quality casting and finishing, beautifully modelled.The bronze stands upon an oval base made of a piece of black marble and a piece of white marble. 15.5 inches high by 7.5 inches wide by 6 inches deep ( 38.75 cms by 18.75 cms by 15 cms).
